LoCo 'Yaks
[Lorain County Kayak & Paddlesports Group]
is situated on Lake Erie and the Black River watershed in northern Ohio.

  • We promote and provide fun, safe, and eco-friendly open-water kayak instruction and educational adventures for all ages and all abilities.
  • We support the maintenance and preservation of our natural waterways by providing educational stewardship opportunities & clinics.
  • We encourage proper water safety and strive to provide water-safety knowledge in a responsible and engaging manner.

Kayaking

Kayak on your terms — whether you’re looking for an afternoon on the river, or you’re taking up a new hobby, we can help you get started.

Stewardship

Founders & organizers of the annual Black River Clean-Up (BRCU), removing more than 110 tons of debris from in and around the Black River.

Education

Community outreach and educational clinics covering topics such as waste reduction, growing healthy watersheds, and the Lake Erie Starts Here program.

Without YOU, there’d still be 110.65+ tons of debris in & along the Black River.

Without YOU, countless people would not know that storm drains lead directly to our lakes & rivers.

Without YOU, adaptive paddling access & programming would not be available in Lorain County in 2019…
